Meeting "internet friends" in real life has become pretty normal to me now, ever since I turned up at Lucie's house late on a Friday night to drink gin and slide across her floor in socks with Katie and Emily (my colleagues had spent the day warning me I was going to be murdered).
Thankfully, Lucie did not murder me, which left me free to visit another tremendous online friend of mine: Sian, who runs a blog as well as 'A Film Club', which is how we really got talking and bonded over our love of Jeff Goldblum's mannerisms, Jeff Goldblum's jumpers and Jeff Goldblum saying, "Antics with semantics."
I went down to stay with Sian in Stevenage at the beginning of September and it was brilliant to spend a long weekend doing absolutely nothing. I took my laptop but didn't type a single sentence; we just watched films, read books and wandered. I feel fused to her in the way good friends are, checking in every few days and monitoring our mental health's ups and downs together. Here are snapshots of what we got up to.
